Dr. Cem Varan is a post-doctoral researcher at Hacettepe University, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. He graduated from Hacettepe University Department of Biology in 2010. Then, He obtained his master’s (2013) and Ph.D. (2017) degree from Hacettepe University Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine division under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Erem Bilensoy.

He is the author of 8 scientific articles published in SCI indexed journals and 7 international book chapters about nanoparticular drug delivery systems. He has given 4 oral and 12 poster presentations at international conferences. One of his oral presentation which presented at SANKO University Innovation in Medicine Summit III Congress (11-13.06.2017) was selected as the best oral presentation of the congress in 2017.

He received the Finnish Government’s Scholarship for 6 months (Centre for International Mobility (CIMO)) and worked as a visiting researcher at Åbo Akademi University for 6 months within the scope of his Ph.D. studies.  He was also the recipient of a grant from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) National Ph.D. Scholarship during his Ph.D. studies.

He worked as a researcher in various national and international research projects. National Starting R&D Project (TUBİTAK 3001) which is about the development of anticancer drug formulation by using inkjet printing technology was successfully completed in 2017. He is currently working as a researcher in 4 different projects including 1 international and 3 national about nanoparticular systems.His research interests include nanoparticular drug delivery systems in cancer therapy, personalized medicine and drugs, natural and synthetic polymer-based drug delivery (included cyclodextrin, chitosan, PCL, PLA, PGA, PLGA), inkjet and 3D printed drug delivery systems, cell culture techniques.
